The Charles E. Ellis Trust provides financial assistance to underprivileged, often first generation to college girls, who reside in Philadelphia and attend either Philadelphia public or charter high schools. They must meet the income benchmarks established by the Department of Welfare and come from single parent, married parents, one of whom is disabled, guardian or foster parent living arrangements. They must earn grades above a C.
The funding provided aids girls in purchasing school supplies, uniforms, graphing calculators and a host of enrichment activities ranging from, but not limited to, attending summer camp to music and dance lessons. The trust does not fund senior class dues, laptop purchases or any type of modeling activities provided through an agency or school.
